Plainfield's municipal court at 325 Watchung Avenue hears many matters by Zoom and screens visitors with a metal detector. Indictable Plainfield cases go to Elizabeth, where Union County prosecutes them.
Plainfield holds many of its municipal court sessions on Zoom. The city says the court mails a notice with the Zoom login, ID and password, and asks anyone contacting the court to include their full name, email, summons or complaint number, and cell phone number. We take Plainfield cases from our only office, in Newark.
